I’m So Over Tantrums

It may be accompanied by the dumbest stock photo in the entire world, but my newest article comes from the heart. I wrote this one for all my fellow peeps with special needs kids, who are well-versed in public humiliation.

This is awesome. Thank you! My son is a “spirited child” and stores make him a bit crazy. So, if you ever see him running laps up and down the aisle, please know that I’m just happy that he’s not knocking things off the shelves or pulling my arm off to manage the overstimulation of the big lights. I appreciate you sharing what you appreciate others doing when your child is having a hard time in the store. That helps me to know how to act with empathy next time I encounter such a situation!

Our challenged kids needs all the advocates they can get–and so do we as their mothers. Thanks for doing your part to educate–it’s much appreciated! We shared your article with a comment on our page: https://www.facebook.com/bookupheld?ref_type=bookmark

Awesome, Awesome! Thank you for not just standing in truth but for having the courage to share it. I hope I will always be calm (or at least pretend to be)when things get rough. I also hope I will be that person with cold water to share. What a great example of complete compassion!

Excellent article Megan! You must have 2 friends named Heather with 11-year-olds!?!? I was totally confused at first. I still remember, in great detail, one of your stories involving Jack at Walmart. Yikes. Thanks for writing this article to hopefully encourage others to be more helpful and/or understanding when they witness a special needs kind of meltdown in public!
